Background
The Context – New Hampshire, The Granite State

New Hampshire is commonly referred to as the ‘Granite State,’ yet some writers have called her the Queen State. “Queen by right of her natural beauty; queen by her native hardy spirit; queen by her diversified industry; queen by reason of her motherhood of great men.”

The state Department of Cultural Resources’ motto is “The Future Belongs To Those Who Think Creatively” solidifying the innovative and creative spirit that belongs to the state - home to authors, writers, musicians, painters, photographers, sculptors and other artists for many years.
